Terms of Service

DarkerDB is a project and Realm operated by KATforge Studios LLC. Your DarkerDB account is a shared KATFORGE Account that may also be used with other KATFORGE Realms.

These DarkerDB Terms supplement the KATFORGE Terms of Service. If the documents conflict, these DarkerDB Terms control only for the DarkerDB-specific Services. The KATFORGE Terms continue to govern shared identity, Accounts, payment methods, billing, and platform services.

• Account means your shared KATFORGE Account, including its DarkerDB Realm membership.
• API means the application programming interfaces made available by DarkerDB.
• Dark and Darker means the game developed and published by Ironmace.
• DarkerDB Content means the software, data compilations, market information, documentation, APIs, and other materials created or made available by KATFORGE through DarkerDB.
• GrimVault means the DarkerDB companion and overlay application.
• Services means the DarkerDB website, API, documentation, data services, GrimVault, and related features.
• Plan means a free or paid DarkerDB API or GrimVault service tier shown on the billing page.

The Services may include:

• Game reference data, guides, tools, and statistics
• Market, trade, item, quest, map, and related information
• Developer API access subject to keys, scopes, credits, and limits
• GrimVault analysis, overlays, settings, and companion features
• Free and paid Plans with different entitlements

Current Plan names, prices, limits, included features, and renewal intervals are displayed on the billing and checkout pages. Those current displays control over older promotional or descriptive material.

4.1 Limited License

Subject to these Terms, KATFORGE grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Services according to your Plan.

4.2 API Access

API access is licensed, not sold. You must protect API keys and comply with scopes, permitted origins, rate limits, credit limits, documentation, and reasonable technical restrictions.

4.3 GrimVault

GrimVault may be installed and used only for its intended companion functions. You may not use it to alter game files or memory, automate gameplay, bypass game protections, or gain an unauthorized competitive advantage.

4.4 Ownership

KATFORGE owns DarkerDB software, original designs, database structure, APIs, documentation, and other original DarkerDB materials. Ironmace and other licensors retain ownership of their respective games, names, artwork, and content.

KATforge Studios LLC is the seller and billing party for DarkerDB purchases. Stripe processes payments. Your Stripe customer and saved payment methods may be associated with your shared KATFORGE Account and displayed for permitted use across KATFORGE Realms.

By confirming a paid Plan, you authorize KATFORGE and Stripe to charge the selected payment method for the amount, taxes, and recurring frequency displayed at checkout. Subscriptions renew automatically until canceled.

Cancel through the billing page. Unless checkout states otherwise, cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period. An upgrade may charge a prorated difference immediately. A downgrade may apply a credit to a later invoice.

By expressly requesting immediate access at checkout, you acknowledge that beginning digital delivery or consuming credits may affect or end an applicable statutory withdrawal right. This does not limit any refund, cancellation, or other remedy required by applicable law.

5.1 Refunds

For purchases made directly from DarkerDB:

• An unused initial subscription is refundable within 7 calendar days
• An unused renewal or paid Plan change is refundable within 3 calendar days after that charge or change
• A verified duplicate or erroneous charge is refundable
• A consumable purchase is refundable within 7 calendar days only if none of its credits or other units were used

If a subscription was used, each Account may still receive one automatic refund per paid product in any rolling 12-month period, provided the request is made within the applicable refund window. Unused refunds do not consume this refund-after-use allowance. Canceling, re-subscribing, or changing tiers does not reset it.

API Plan use means a successful request that consumes paid API credits. GrimVault use means a successful analysis that delivers paid-only widgets or slots. Opening GrimVault, signing in, or syncing settings does not count as use.

Claim an eligible subscription refund automatically through the billing page. An approved refund cancels that Plan immediately, returns the charge to the original payment method, and removes its remaining paid API credits, paid rate limits, and paid feature entitlements.

Because eligible subscription refunds are handled automatically, requests outside the applicable window or beyond the used-refund limit generally will not be approved. Contact support@darkerdb.com for an unused consumable, a verified duplicate or erroneous charge, or a refund, cancellation, or other remedy required by applicable law. Outside these rules, payments are non-refundable.

You may not:

• Violate law, third-party rights, or game rules
• Share, publish, sell, or misuse Account credentials or API keys
• Evade Plan limits, credits, scopes, rate limits, or access controls
• Disrupt, overload, probe, scrape, or reverse engineer the Services without permission
• Resell or redistribute the API or substantial data extracts unless authorized
• Build a substantially competing database or service from DarkerDB Content without written permission
• Use GrimVault to automate gameplay or alter Dark and Darker
• Use the Services for fraud, abuse, harassment, malware, or unauthorized collection of user data
• Use the Services in violation of United States export controls, trade restrictions, or economic sanctions

KATFORGE processes Account, Realm, API, GrimVault, analytics, and billing information as described in the KATFORGE Privacy Policy and the DarkerDB Privacy Policy.

Transactional messages may be sent for verification, security, billing, subscriptions, support, outages, or legal changes. If you choose marketing, KATFORGE may send KATFORGE updates, DarkerDB updates, or both according to your communication preferences. You may change those preferences or unsubscribe at any time.

Game, market, price, trade, drop, quest, map, and API information may be delayed, incomplete, estimated, or incorrect. It is provided for informational purposes and is not a guarantee of in-game value, availability, outcome, or compatibility.

Game updates, publisher actions, third-party outages, or changes to data sources may modify or discontinue part of the Services without advance notice.

You may stop using the Services and cancel paid Plans through the available controls. KATFORGE may restrict or terminate access for violations, nonpayment, security risks, legal requirements, publisher requests, or discontinuation of a Service.

Upon termination, your license ends. Paid access normally continues through the period already purchased unless access is terminated for cause or immediate action is reasonably necessary.

DarkerDB and GrimVault are independent companion services. They are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or officially connected to Ironmace or Dark and Darker unless expressly stated.

Any past approval, communication, or compatibility does not guarantee future approval or operation. KATFORGE may modify or stop affected features in response to Ironmace or platform requirements.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." KATFORGE DISCLAIMS IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, KATFORGE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, GAME ITEMS, OR USE.

KATFORGE'S TOTAL LIABILITY ARISING FROM THE DARKERDB SERVICES WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF USD $100 OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE AFFECTED DARKERDB SERVICE DURING THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM. THESE LIMITS APPLY ONLY TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

Washington law governs these DarkerDB Terms. Legal actions must be brought in the state or federal courts located in King County, Washington, unless applicable consumer law requires otherwise.

If a provision is unenforceable, it will be limited to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining provisions remain effective. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.

We may update these Terms prospectively. We will post the updated version and provide additional notice of material changes where required.
